Music

Have you ever listened to a song and just felt God all around you? This has happened to me a few times; most recently while listening to "Lift High" (Steve Fee) and "You Are" (Jason Castro). These are two AMAZING songs. I love listening to Christian music. It is filled with positive and encouraging messages that leave me feeling rejuvenated, whereas listening to darker or bad secular music does little to improve my mood or perspective. I'm not saying that secular music is bad; one of my favorite songs right now is "I Like It Like That" By Hot Chelle Ray, but when I'm in a bad mood I know that Christian music can help turn me around. If anybody ever needs good songs to listen to I'm the one to ask! :) I listen to all genres and can supply you with the perfect song for you.

Babies

I know it's cheesy but one of the things that remind me that life didn't just happen by chance is a baby. My cousin just had a son and it is the most beautiful thing I have EVER seen. You can't look at a newborn baby and say that some big bang created it. Especially with how perfect everything works when creating and carrying the baby. Their form is just a tiny version of what they will become.

I heard a story from my director the other day that has to deal with abortion. A man’s son died in the army and the man himself died of cancer a few years later. When he gets to God’s throne he demands to know why God didn’t send someone to create peace among countries or why he didn’t send a cure to cancer. God replied with two simple sentences. “I sent a man to create peace, but you aborted him. I sent you the woman that would cure cancer, but you aborted her.” By you he meant people. When someone has an abortion they don’t know what that child was created to do or who they were to become. They could’ve been sent to be the best president America has ever seen, or to  come up to the solution to world poverty, but how are we to know unless we give them the chance to live? Who are we to decide which of God’s creations should live or die?

Ben Breedlove

I was in the mood for humor—and didn't want to introduce my new laptop to Youtube just yet—so I logged on to Godtube prepared to look up Tim Hawkins, when something caught my eye. On the home page of Godtube was Ben Breedlove’s video. The link to the video is below. It left me wondering how he did it. I’m not sure that if I was in his situation I would be as composed and positive and full of life. I find it hard to trust in God when trivial things happen, but this boy put his faith in God in the face of death. He knew where he was going. Do you?
